Yes. The second primary suite features a wood-burning fireplace beneath vaulted ceilings and large picture windows.
Is there a full kitchen?
Yes, the cabin has a full kitchen equipped to cook for a group, plus a Traeger pellet grill on the deck.
Is there WiFi?
Yes, the cabin has WiFi, and one primary suite has a dedicated desk that works well for remote work.
Is parking available?
Yes, there is free on-site parking. From December through March, a 4WD or AWD vehicle is required for the mountain road.

Are pets allowed?
Yes, Wildcat Cabin is pet friendly. Up to 2 pets are welcome for $150 per pet, and the 9 wooded acres give dogs plenty of room to roam.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Self check-in is available; arrival details are sent before your stay.
Is smoking allowed?
No. Wildcat Cabin is a non-smoking property indoors.
Are parties or events allowed?
No. The cabin is a quiet, family-friendly retreat, so parties and large events are not permitted.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are shared at the time of booking and vary by season and dates. For direct bookings, contact us and we'll confirm the policy for your stay in writing.

Do I need a 4WD vehicle?
A 4WD or AWD vehicle is required from December through March, when snow and ice affect the mountain road. The rest of the year, standard vehicles are fine.
How is winter access to the cabin?
The cabin is fully open in winter — the hot tub runs year-round and the fireplace makes cold evenings cozy. Just bring a 4WD or AWD vehicle for the mountain road between December and March.
How does arrival work?
Self check-in makes arrival easy. You'll receive directions and access details before your trip, so you can head straight to the cabin.

Yes. The Animas River and nearby waters offer excellent trout fishing, and the surrounding San Juan Mountains have trails from gentle forest loops to alpine climbs — starting with the cabin's own 9 acres.

What can I do near the cabin in summer?
Swim at Lake Nighthorse, raft or float the Animas River, fly fish, hike the San Juans, wade in mountain creeks, and grill on the deck.
What can I do near the cabin in winter?
Ski Purgatory (45 minutes) or the family-friendly Hesperus Ski Area (15 minutes), then warm up in the year-round hot tub and by the wood-burning fireplace.
What are spring and fall like?
Spring brings snowmelt, rushing creeks, and quieter trails, while fall lights up the aspens in gold. Both shoulder seasons are ideal for peaceful stays with fewer crowds.
